Back in the seventies i got a little bit interested in town and village signs in Norfolk. Every village had one and they all told a little story about the place. Well, Lynn had three, or four if you count West Lynn. I never understood why one wasn't good enough. It would be interesting if one of you locals could tell me whether they are still there, what the images mean and maybe take a "now" picture or three.
The first sign was on the river bank as you came into Lynn from the Midlands. It depicts many of Lynn's famous buildings. On the top are the arms of the Borough with a bird (pelican?) and three swords being driven into dragon's mouths. What's that all about? And the key at the bottom?
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
